Camp 2009 - Peak District
Camp 2009 is Saturday 25th July to Saturday 1st August

In 2009 we will be visiting The Peak District for the first time. We will be staying at the Glenbrook Guide Activity Centre which is in Hope Valley. This is right in the centre of the Peaks with lots of good walking and climbing sites around us. There are also a lot of tourist attractions such as Speedwell Cavern and Blue John Cave. On-site we have a number of activities such as Archery, Weaselling and Orienteering.

It will be a slightly different camp this year in that we will have some facilities! So we can all look forward to proper toilets and a hot shower for the first time in many years on Scout camp.

Camp 2008 - Isle of Purbeck

In 2008 we will be returning to the Isle of Purbeck in Dorset. There are three camp locations on the Rempstone Estate and so far we have stayed at two of them. This year we are going to try the third one. The first site we stayed at (Cleval Point) was in my view rather exposed and given that Dave relives stories about flattened tents during a windy night, this is not unrealistic. The second (Resevoir) was a good site but I didn't think it would provide enough personal space for 45 people on a weeks camp. In the end we are going to the "Common" which is a 50 acre site in between Cleval Point and the Resevoir site. We have canoe launch facilities from Cleval Point and have joint access to the Resevoir (small pond seen with Lily and Leo).

Camp 2007 - Hay-on-Wye
In 2007 we stayed at Bronydd Farm near Hay-on-Wye. The farmers field which we stayed in was adjacent to the river Wye. When I get time, I will create some pages for this camp.
Camp 2006 - Lake Windemere
In 2006 we stayed at the Pull Wycke campsite in the Lake District. This scout campsite was on the edge of Lake Windemere. For a full overview of the 2006 camp please click here.
