Cooking on outdoor fires - June 2008
Tonight we are cooking Bangers and Mash on open fires

In the beginning, there was a very tidy and hygenic work area!

Tonight the Scouts are cooking sausages with onion gravy, creamed potaotes and carrots. For pudding they are cooking baked bananas with chocolate filling.

Last time we cooked this we had some difficulty with the mash so this time they have instructions.

So far, so good. The Scouts are still working well in their patrols and they have all done the preparation with minimal adult help and are now on the cooking phase.

They are looking confident of a second supper.

As Leaders we loved this scene. Pity help the person who is going to make these pans look clean and shiny again!

This is what the pans should look like.

Thankfully most of the Scouts look like they are enjoying the end result. I'm not sure why they are guarding a washing up bowl though! Maybe they washed their hands before the ate.

Now this is style! This group have used their patrol box as an improvised table. And it looks like the gravy is a success.
