Troop Nights 2007/08 Academic Year
Recent activities - Frist half Autumn term 08
Encouraging Scouts to work as a member of a team is very important. On this evening Scouts worked in small groups to complete two challenges. To see what we built and some pics click here.
This term the Scouts are planning to get their Cyclist badges. Part of this involves bycicle maintenance. To see how the first session went please click here.

Dave runs two sessions which enable the Scouts to get their pioneer badge. Some of it looks like rather hard work. To see some larger photos please click here.

We will be running this activity with the 'other half' of the troop later in the term and should have some some photos then.

Second half term Summer 08
After two failed attempts earlier in the term we finally managed to cook outdoors on open fires. To find out what was on the menu and see some pics please click here.
We split the group for climbing and cycling on two of our Troop nights. The groups swapped activities two weeks later so that everyone got the opportunity to take part in both activities. For some pics of the climbing please click here.
First half term Summer 08
At the start of the Summer Term 2008 we held an outdoor pioneering event. This was a surprise activity organised by Dave. In the end it turned out that we were making "Slippery Poles". For some pics and more info please click here.
On the 29th April 2008 we were supposed to be doing "Backwoods Cooking". Due to the weather we cooked Sweet and Sour Pork indoors. For some pics and more info please click here.
May 2008 saw our very first Incident Hike. This activity was organised by Graham. It took a lot of advance planning and preparation but thankfully his time and effort were rewarded with a very successfull evening. For some pics and more info please click here.
After a patrol questionnaire it became evident that most of the scouts wanted to go Paintballing. As we are not allowed to do this we took them for an outdoor laser event instead. For some pics and more info please click here.
