Making Sausages - March 2009
We are making pasta bridges and paper tables!

We haven't done this activity for a while and last time it was really good fun.

Each Patrol of Scouts was given the basic ingredients to make sausages (minced pork, skins, rusk, egg and seasoning). They were also given some instructions but these were prepared by someone who didn't know much about making sausages.

As with last time it was hillarious. This time we had the genuine intestine skins wheras last time we had the synthetic ones. This made them all the more slippery and rather unnapetising!

They did however all enter into the spirit of things and we had lots of suasuages that really did look like the real thing.

We had a couple that were to big and took a long time to cook but hopefully those who were trying to make the biggest sausage have learnt a valuable lesson from this.

We also had several sausages which were 'spiked', one with an excess of garlic and the other with lots of chilli powder. The owners thankfully had a sense of humour.

A good evening and many thanks go to the butchers in Hartley Wintney who provided us with the basic sausage making kit.
